PRODUCT MANAGER

Waterline Renewal Technologies (“WRT”) encompasses the LMK Technologies, Perma-Liner Industries, and AP/M Permaform brands that are focused on helping our customers rehabilitate degraded infrastructure and revitalize efficiencies, which in turn protect people, the environment, and mission-critical assets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for bringing new product lines to consumers in an engaging, functional way while opening fresh distribution channels and collaborating with other departments. The Product Manager will work creatively and pragmatically to conserve resources and engage the product line’s potential audience. Knowledge of key demographics and an innovative perspective on product development are important in this role. This position reports directly to the VP of Marketing and Product Management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • A thought leader within the company, delivering continuous business improvement opportunities to the individual businesses in alignment with the strategic and annual operating plans (AOP)
  • Build product roadmaps, gather the voice of customers (VOC), write business cases, conduct market research, establish a pricing strategy, and create a product portfolio strategy.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the market, distribution channels, and competition.
    • Relative to the competition, developing a deep understanding of customer offerings including, products, services pricing, and go-to-market strategy. Develop an effective value proposition that clearly distinguishes the value of WRT product offering vs the competition.
  • Familiarize yourself with the product line’s components and its potential impact on the market as a whole.
  • Practice discretion when discussing the production roll-out and maintain confidentiality.
  • Responsible for both product planning and product marketing by introducing and managing products throughout their Lifecycle.
    • This includes the introduction of new products through gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with Engineering.
    • Responsible for all aspects of product integration for acquisitions
  • Prepare launch events to coincide with consumers’ buying patterns.
  • Write a go-to-market summary and introduce it to the rest of the department.
  • Create a mission statement for product launch and forecast performance in individual channels.
  • Influence and drive a culture of accountability and execution utilizing our “5I’s” core values.
  • Perform various ad hoc analyses as requested.
  • Management of distribution center sales activities, including
    • Inventory (Min/Max)
    • Responsible for in-store marketing and promotion, including organization and display of products at the DC.
    • Tracking of DC sales performance and identifying areas for opportunity
    • Identify products and areas for upselling.
    • Develop and implement delivery services creating increased customer dependency.
  • Management of all licensing agreements; including summarizing, evaluation and determining next steps

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years’ product management experience Knowledge of the plumbing/drain cleaner or municipal wastewater markets.
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or marketing is strongly preferred (MBA preferred), and significant practical experience will be considered as an alternative to a degree.
  • Proven success in overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle.
  • Excellent networking skills, especially regarding distribution channels
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, combined with strong presentation skills.
  • Strong motivational skills, especially when it comes to leading a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to travel, when necessary, up to 25% travel

OTHER INFORMATION

This is a full-time, exempt, executive-level position. Days of work are Monday through Friday during regular business hours. This position may require long hours and some weekend work, as necessary to meet business obligations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak or hear. This role also requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand, as necessary.

This job operates in a professional manufacturing/warehouse environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Candidates should be able to live and carry up to 50 lbs. and comply with OSHA standards.

Frequently, travel is outside the local area and overnight. Some of the travel may be international.
